Madeleine Laini Is Leading The Way
Being of Congolese descent and France and England raised, creative talent Madeleine Laini blends authentic techniques of head-wrapping learnt from her aunts and mother with contemporary British millinery aesthetics. She had a vision to make these authentic pieces of wearable art – as she puts it – into an heirloom, to share with women across the world. “The head scarf is here to stay, forevermore!” she says. And how can we possibly argue with her artistic eye? Madeleine is continually inspired by her multicultural background. Her introduction to millinery came under the watchful eye of master milliner Noel Stewart who has created catwalk hats for Mulberry, Erdem, JW Anderson as well as Queen Elizabeth II. Since then, she continues to perfect her passion and grow the Kiyana Wraps Brand. She’s giving us her take on style and what inspires her.
My Wrap, My Style aims to inspire and encourage women to find infinite possibilities to feel empowered, while asking the most pertinent question: “What Does The Wrap Represent To You?”
