Catherine Baba is Queen Of Style
Catherine Baba’s style is a perfect blend of bohemian chic and of the jazz age, embodying the 1920s, 1930s and 1950’s fashion which she mixes with contemporary pieces, in part with her signature accessories – her turbans and her headscarves. Beyond her well-documented style (and striking personality grazed on Instagram), is a woman who understands the power of possessing agency over her image – a visionary, style icon and influencer even before the term was invented. She cycles around the cobbled streets of Paris in the highest Yves Saint Laurent stilettos and vintage furs – a long distance from her home city Sydney, where she migrated from during the mid 1990’s. Exuded is her unapologetic self-confidence – that, even through a photo, you would want to follow her to wherever she was heading. Baba’s essence is reminiscent of the 1920’s French icon Kiki de Montparnasse, you can see the influence she may have had on her with all her eccentricities and joie-de-vivre which are paralleled in the way that she refuses to be placed in a box – living by her own terms. She leads the way for the women with effortless style and unique beauty that defy the ages – a true fashion icon we admire today.
